Question Detail: Childhood friend doesn't want to have a close friendship anymore

Childhood friend doesn't want to have a close friendship anymore

Me and my childhood friend had a very close friendship until we were 22 years old. She was very much like me we were like sisters soul mates. But when she was about 18 she had plastic surgery in her nose she became very beautiful and very popular with the boys and she gradually changed, she became selfish and vain. She wasn't the same person anymore. We gradually distance ourselves but we always ended meeting up, mainly when things weren't going well in her life. She disappointed me a few times with her selfish attitude and the last time I decided to distance myself from her completely as she had upset me a few times and felt very low every time she did.

We went different ways until recently when I decided to contact her through FB. I was very excited because I thought things will be different after a few years have passed and I was hoping she had became a different person with stronger feelings. When I contacted the first time she was kind of friendly and interested, but she wouldn't tell me much about herself just the basics. I poured my life out, send pictures of my family but she never reciprocated. I asked her if I could have her phone number so I could ring her rather than e-mailing and she said she didn't feel our relationship was that deep for her to exchange phone numbers.

It broke my heart because despite all the up and downs we have lived many experiences together we were very close. So I couldn't understand why she rejected me like that. Why do I feel that strong about her and she doesn't. All my friends they contact old friends with a great response from them and why is it different with me? We are in different situations I am married with two kids, she is married with no kids. I always try to find an explanation but it's very fustrating because I can't find one.

Most of us have feelings why hasn't she got any??

James, Although the word Blaxploitation does not sound complimentary, at least it gave popele the opportunity to express themselves artistically and in turn provided the rest of us the opportunity to experience some great music and dress style leading to the 70s fashion that is still popular today. It was thanks to popele like Don Cornelius who created Soul Train that brought previously unknown music, and artists to the public who in turn appreciated them and made the music popular. Even today their music and the clothing from the 1970s is inspiring both modern day musicians and fashion designers alike.

Hi! I understand how you feel. Once I had a friend at some kind of after-school club, we became really good friends. Then at summer camp a year later, after I lost touch, I met up with her again. She didn't want anything to do with me. I was so young and i was like to myself 'Maybe her grandad died and that's why she's sad'. Okay mabe I dont LOl. But your friend obviously isn't worth it. i suggest to get over it. If you really miss her, then contact her. Look up her number in the phone book. Ring her. Explain how you feel. If she acts like bi@tch, remind her of olod the good times and ask if she wants to meet up for coffee or go shopping. When me and my friends fall out, we usually talk about it. It helps. :) Good Luck! XX
